In the first quarter of 2024 we successfully surveyed 838 acres (339ha) of active quarry estates in the UK. That is equivalent to 524 football pitches!
Quarries in the winter months are notoriously hazardous to survey by conventional ground methods. The use of UAV technology, in this case a fixed wing RTK EbeeX drone by AgEagle, yielded an average ground resolution of 21mm.
The processed data allowed the production of 3D colour rendered point clouds, contouring, void volumes, isopachyte contours and ortho-rectified images of each quarry site.
